2005 Relay For Life

Some companies “talk the talk” but at Blendz, we “walk the walk”. This year, we not only sponsored the annual Relay for Life 24-Hour Relay, we formed our own team to WALK the 24-Hour Relay! With the generosity and support from our loyal customers, families and friends, Blendz raised over $5,000.00 benefiting the American Cancer Society. A true testament of what a company that's also part of a community can achieve.

This year Blendz was proud to participate in Campbell’s Annual Relay for Life, (benefiting The American Cancer Society) as a sponsor and as an organized 24-hour relay team. The Blendz B-KAHUNA Relay Team didn’t just consist of our friendly Blendz Crew Members, but included our very own founders, husband & wife team, Matt & Denise Phipps, while joined by our regular and loyal customers, family, friends and team members from our Los Gatos location as well.

As a relay team, Blendz was committed to having a team member on the track at all times, during the 24-hour period. In addition, we were also committed to raising funds in the hopes of finding a cure, raising awareness and educating our community on the effects cancer has on each and every one of us. This amazing event allowed Blendz to exemplify and carryout one of our stated Missions, which is “to create a work environment that rewards and coaches our people so that we provide the absolute best in customer success and in giving back to our community”. Being a part of this event allowed Blendz to do just that, with the involvement of not only our employees, but our valued customers who voluntarily wanted to be a part of our efforts, resulting in a productive success in giving back to our community with our time and over $5,000! Thank you to everyone for your support. We look forward to doing it again in 2006!

Our special event is one that affects us each personally and as a community, and that is the fight against cancer. As an ingredient of the Blendz Mission we make every effort to be part of and invest in the growth of our local community. That's why we are excited to not only be a sponsor, but have formed a Relay Team, "Team B-Kahuna" at the 2005 Campbell Relay For Life.

For those of you who have not experienced the event, The American Cancer Society Relay For Life ® is a 24-hour team event that raises awareness of cancer to our neighbors through raising funds and delivering hope to hose who are coping with this disease each and every day. This year's event will be held on July 9th & 10th at the Campbell Community & Recreation Center from 10:00am Saturday to 10:00am Sunday.

Please support our sincere efforts in contributing to find a cure:

1. Become a B-Kahuna Team Member:
   Join the team in raising funds and taking strides around the track during the 24-hour Relay as we would love your energy and support at Camp Kahuna . Contact our Princess Kahuna, Mona Liza, for details on how to sign up at monaliza@blendz.com .
   
   
2. Donate Online or Over the Counter:
   Our Team Goal is to raise $5,000! To contribute to our efforts simply click here and go without delay to our Team Page and donate directly online. You can also donate over the counter and a friendly Blendz Crew Member will gladly provide you with a receipt for your tax-deductible contribution.
   
   
3. Buy the Food You Love:
   Not only does our menu give you a lift, but for the week of July 5th -8th our menu will be a part of the fundraising efforts. We invite you to come into any Blendz location during the week of July 5th - 8th, when 10% of all sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society. It's the perfect reason to bring a friend to lunch or better yet, bring extras back to the office. As a special incentive, all catering orders of $200 placed during the 5th -8th will receive a $10 Blendz CashCard.
